Troubleshooting Installation Issues With A Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock On A 2005 Toyota Tacoma

Question:
I connect the wires from the pop n lock to the wires for the remote lock. I have a blue white and a blue pink. If I connect the blue from the power lock to the blue pink and green to the blue white I can get the lock to lock but wont unlock. If I switch the wires around I can unlock but wont lock

I spoke with Pop & Lock and their tech stated that you should have a blue/red wire, which is your locking wire and a blue/black wire which is your unlock wire. He said that it sounds like your not getting a ground and that those wire will be the same thickness as the blue and green wires of the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock # PAL8521.
I understand that this completely contradicts the installation instructions for your 2005 Toyota Tacoma but it does fit the 2010+ instructions so there's a possibility that your specific model was wired differently than other 2005 models.
