Question:
I want to tow my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 behind my 2002 Ford F450 V10 31.5foot Holiday Rambler motorhome. What tow bar and accessories do you recommend? including a braking system in the Dodge.

First thing you will need to do is check the owners manual for both vehicles to make sure your Dodge Ram can be flat-towed and if there are any restrictions and what the towing capacity is for your 2002 Ford F450. As long as those two things check out we have what you need.
First let's start with a base plate kit. For that you would want the # BX1949 as this is confirmed to fit your truck.
In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle.
For a tow bar you are going to need one with a high capacity since your truck is pretty heavy. The one I recommend is the Blue Ox Avail # BX7420 that has a 10k capacity. This is also one of the nicest tow bars on the market and comes with safety cables.
For lighting you can use the bulb and socket kit, # RM-155, and not have to worry about cutting and splicing into the vehicle wiring.
And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake proportional system, # RM-9400, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the two vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
