Routing Trailer Wiring Harness Power Wire on a 2012 Nissan Versa Hatchback

Question:

2012 Nissan Versa Hatchback I purchased the trailer wiring harness with part #118545 a moment ago. Because of this, I have not received any installation procedures or drawings to look at, but I have a question about a comment I noticed on the page for this part. This part requires that the hot lead be connected directly to the battery. Im an engineer so I dont have a problem understanding typical installation procedures and drawings. But, I figured I would ask before the wiring package arrived, what is the best way to run the hot lead to the battery? My typical way of going about these projects if I dont know the exact way of doing something usually involves trial and error that results in a less than stellar installation. I appreciate any help that you can give me regarding the routing of the hot lead to the battery on this installation. Thanks

There are a few different ways that you can route the power wiring for wiring harness # 118545 on your 2012 Nissan Versa hatchback. It all depends on how you want to route it.

The 3 basic methods are under the vehicle exposed, under the vehicle semi-exposed, and through the interior of the vehicle. I wrote a help article, linked to the right, that covers the different methods that you can look through.

The actual installation instructions, also linked to the right, do not offer detailed methods for routing the power wire. But they do explain the rest of the installation.
