Will Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock # PAL8250 Fit 2013 Ford F-150 With Tailgate Step

Can you used the 8250 pop and lock with the step tailgate? My bracket looks totally different

My technical contact at Pop & Lock advised that the 2013 Ford F-150 with the step-type tailgate is still a fit for their Custom Tailgate Power Lock # PAL8250. It may be necessary to remove or loosen the step for installation of the lock but my technical contact assured me that both will work together.
