Question:
Need weight distribution for 2013 Chevy Traverse pulling about 5000 lbs of boat, outboard motor, trailer and gear. Sags, and also lifts front wheel drive up too far on a wet ramp. Help?

A properly-rated weight distribution system will help correct the rear end sag and loss of front-wheel-drive traction with your Traverse.
The single most critical factor in selecting a weight distribution/sway control system is the trailer's effective tongue weight. This means the actual measured tongue weight of the trailer itself when fully loaded plus the weight of anything in the Traverse that sits behind the rear axle, such as a generator or loaded cooler. Please refer to the linked article on tongue weight for more information on how to measure this.
The other considerations are the type of brakes used on the trailer, which in your case is surge brakes. Also, your trailer hitch must specificlly be rated for use with weight distribution; this will be indicated on its safety/warning sticker. The linked article will give you good background to help you consider your options.
Boat trailers also require a pole tongue adapter to enable use of weight distribution systems; we offer part # RP3280 from Reese that attaches to your pole tongue to provide attachment points for the weight distribution system's brackets. This adapter is rated for up to 750-lbs tongue weight and will mount approximately 30-inches back from hitch ball.
You can use the link provided to see all systems compatible with surge brakes and that include the shank. You can click on your tongue weight to see systems that will work for you. For example, if your effective tongue weight is 400-lbs you can use Equlizer system # EQ37060ET. For a 2-inch hitch ball you can use # A-90; for a 2-5/16-inch size you can use part # 19286.
