Permanent RV Jack Pads to Prevent Sinking on Soft or Uneven Ground

Published 11/03/2026

Question:

I have a 2022 Grand Design Solitude and we camp on a lot of gravel and dirt sites. My leveling jacks sometimes sink into the ground a little, and Im looking for something that would give them a wider footprint. Ive seen pads that stay attached to the jacks instead of having to put blocks underneath every time. What options do you have?

Hey Mike!

I recommend the Lippert GrabPad Permanent Jack Pads, available for 8"–9" jack feet in a 2-pack # LC485DV or 4-pack # LC685DV, and 10"–12" jack feet in a 2-pack # LC585DV or 4-pack # LC385DV

They attach directly to your existing leveling jack feet using spring-steel clamps and stay installed even when you retract your jacks for travel, so there's no more placing and retrieving loose pads at every campsite!

Their wider footprint helps prevent your jacks from sinking into soft ground, while the domed design allows up to 5° of movement to accommodate uneven surfaces. They won't actually level your RV much since they aren't super thick, but they'll provide a more stable footing for your existing leveling jacks.

Do you know what size leveling jack feet your Solitude has?
