What Accessories Can I Use on My 2026 Ford Bronco Sport Roof Rack to Haul Ladders and Lumber?

Yes, the Rhino-Rack Crossbar Pads # RRRWP04 are a nice option for protecting your crossbars when hauling ladders, lumber, tree stands, and other gear. I actually like your idea of using these for more than just water sports equipment! Just keep in mind that rougher surfaces, like unfinished lumber and tree stands, may cause the pads to wear out a little faster than they would with smooth water sports equipment.

Since you're planning to haul a little bit of everything, I found a few other accessories you might like.

ProGrip Cinching Ladder and Roof Rack Tie-Down Straps # 317-505420: These are specifically designed for securing ladders and lumber to roof racks. You will want to wrap these around your cargo and crossbars to keep everything secured. Please see the attached image. They would wrap around your crossbars the same way they're shown on the ladder rack.

Thule Eye Bolt Tie-Down Anchors # TH37QC: These give you additional attachment points for your tie-down straps, which can be really handy when you're carrying different types of cargo. *T-Slot

ProGrip Quick Anchor Straps # 317-861220: These create temporary tie-down points at your hood or rear hatch. I like these for longer loads when you need additional front or rear tie-down points.

Rhino-Rack Load Stops # RRRLH2: These are 5" tall and help keep ladders and lumber from shifting side to side. What I really like about these is that they have built-in tie-down points for your straps, and you can easily slide them into position without tools. *T-Slot

You certainly don't need all of these accessories, but they give you some nice options depending on what you're hauling. Just remember to stay within your Bronco Sport's roof rack weight capacity and properly secure everything before heading down the road.

I see that there are different crossbar options available for the Bronco Sport, so I marked the Thule eye bolts and Rhino-Rack load stops with *T-Slot. These accessories require crossbars with T-track mounting channels, and I attached an image showing the difference between the two styles.

Congrats on the Bronco Sport! What color did you end up choosing? And what are you hunting for? My other chases the white tail here in Missouri, I fish the bass tournaments with him, but would love to get my own deer this year. Bronco Sport Outer Banks. 2016. White with black roof and trim. I plan to order the crossbar pads. Thanks ?? for all the other options. I am a retired school principal and Mayor of our city. I take my grandsons deer ?? hunting. I think they like the snacks and playing on phones during the hunts. Thanks ?? for you help.

I am not going to lie, I have sat in the stand before and was there for strictly snacks and hanging out. I am sure that spending time with your grandson is really what is all about.
