Question:
I am looking for a stand alone transmission oil cooler for 2016 f150 5.0. Had to replace transmission due to integrated cooler in radiator failing Strawberry milkshake. Do not want radiator involved!

Hi Jessie!
Sorry to hear about your troubles, but I can definitely help. Both of the options I talk about below will fit the 2.7L V6 EcoBoost, 3.5L V6 EcoBoost, and the 5.0L V8.
If you have the room for it, I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class III - Efficient # D13503. This is the cooler I recommend the most as it has a lot of surface area, con be connected directly to your transmission, and does a very good job.
If you have less room for one of these, the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/ NPT Inlets - Class I -Extra Efficient # D13611 will be the better choice. It doesn't have as much surface area, so I do prefer the # D13503, but this will still do a good job and also bypasses the radiator.
Are you towing with your truck a lot? Or are you doing long trips?

I put in the Series 8000 on my 2014 Subaru Outback R3.6 (six cylinder) I use to tow my A-Liner and I've had no problems. The instillation is easy, just make sure you measure the tubing before you cut. They don't give you much extra. I did keep it inter-graded with my radiator, but the radiator has a small exchange and I probably would of had an easier job if I bypassed it.
