Question:

I have a 2026 Ram 1500 Rebel Crew Cab with a naked roof no factory rails and the dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Im looking at the Yakima LockNLoad platform 55inch x 49 on the RuggedLine HD mounting system. Before I buy: 1. Is this combination a confirmed fit for the 2026 Ram 1500 Crew Cab? 2. With the platform mounted, will the panoramic sunroof still vent tilt AND fully slide open without the glass contacting the platform or mounts? Do you have a measured clearance? 3. What does the install involve on this truck — drilling into the roof, and does the headliner need to come down? 4. Whats the load rating for this setup on this truck? 5. What would shipping to Palmer, AK 99645 cost for this setup? Thanks, Daniel

Hey Daniel!

The Yakima LockNLoad Platform Rack with RuggedLine HD Mounting System # Y44NJ that you're looking at is unfortunately not a confirmed fit for your 2026 Ram 1500 Rebel Crew Cab. Yakima does not have a fit for this system for your truck with a naked roof and panoramic sunroof just yet.

Instead, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack with Backbone Mounting System # RR74CP. It's a very similar system, just with a confirmed fit for your truck.

The install will require drilling into the roof of your truck, but you won't drill into or remove the headliner. My rep at Rhino Rack informed me that they didn't record the specs on whether the sunroof will tilt or slide when the platform is installed, so I can't plainly say one way or another that it will work. They didn't have any specs on the height of the tilted sunroof, but the platform sits 2" above the highest point of the roof, so you can measure your roof's high point to check the fit.

The load rating of the # RR74CP is 220 lbs, but you'll want to check your owner's manual to see if Ram rated the roof any differently. You'll limit yourself to the lower number between the manual's spec and the rack's 220 lbs limit.

Typically, we offer free shipping on orders over $99, but only to the lower 48 states, so shipping directly to Alaska wouldn't qualify.
