Can You Use a Bike Rack With the Blue Ox Sprinter Hitch and Step?

We have a 2022 Sprinter 2500 camper van and want to carry two electric bikes on the back. I like the Blue Ox hitch with the step but can I still use a bike rack with it? Also wondering if wed be able to open the back doors

Hey Michelle!

Yes, the Blue Ox Hitch # BLU22FJ has a standard 2" receiver, so you can absolutely use it with a compatible hitch-mounted bike rack.

The hitch has a 600-lb tongue weight rating, although you'll also want to follow the Sprinters limits and the bike racks weight capacity.

The bigger concern is rear door clearance. Since Sprinter doors swing outward, Id recommend a swing-away bike rack or compatible swing-away adapter if you need regular access to the camper. Just keep in mind that the bikes and rack may block access to the hitch's integrated step.

Which electric bikes do you have? I can help find a rack that will carry them and still give you access to those rear doors.
