How to Determine Antenna and Rear Hatch Clearance on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee for a Cargo Box

Updated 07/31/2014 | Published 07/30/2014

Question:

Largest Available Roof Box for 2014 Jeep Cherokee not the Grand Cherokee that Will Not Interfere With Rear Hatch or the rear antennae? I have the Thule ARB53 AeroBlades and 450R railing foot racks.

The best way to determine which cargo boxes will fit on your 2014 Jeep Cherokee is to measure. Cargo box manufacturers do not test fit their cargo boxes on specific vehicles to determine rear hatch or antenna clearance.

Two of the leading cargo box manufacturers, Thule and Yakima, provide rear hatch clearance requirements for their cargo boxes (see photo), but this does not include rear mounted antennas. What you will want to do is adjust the front crossbar as far forward on the side rails as possible. From there, measure back to the rear antenna. You will want to use that measurement and the clearance measurements on the attached charts to determine which cargo box will fit without interference.

If you would like to send me the measurement you took on your Jeep, I would be happy to make a few cargo box recommendations. I have also attached a link to all of our cargo boxes.
