Question:

I'm looking at W92YH for my new 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500 short bed. We take a lot of road trips and luggage usually ends up in the bed. How well does this keep everything dry in rain?

Hey Derek, congratulations on the new truck! The Westin Power Retractable Tonneau Cover # W92YH does a good job protecting luggage from the weather with seals around the bed and drain tubes that route water out of the canister and tracks.

I wouldn't call any tonneau cover completely waterproof, so anything that absolutely can't get wet should still go in a waterproof bag or tote. For normal luggage and camping gear, though, this is the type of hard cover I'd want over it.

Thanks! We're headed down to Gulf Shores next month for our first long trip with the new truck. If we end up needing more room, can I add crossbars to the tracks for a cargo box or basket? Thanks again.

@Derek you're welcome! Gulf Shores should be a great first trip with the new truck. You can add the Westin Crossbars # W79ZK directly to the T-slots and use them with a cargo box or basket if you need some extra storage for the trip. Safe travels!
