Is the Extra Ground Wire Required to Install a Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller in a 2013 Toyota Tundra

Question:
Hello, Ive just received my Tekonsha P3 w/ Tundra Wiring Harness #3040-P from eTrailer. About to install it. Read some of the threads here. Just want to confirm, this extra ground wire should in fact be grounded individually for the Tekonsha P3? And if so, where is a good spot to connect to for a 2013 Tundra? The extra ground wire definitely threw me off as all the threads clearly detail the white wire as a ground. So having a redundant ground wire is in fact needed, correct? Appreciate the added clarification.

Yes, you will want to ground the additional white wire of the Tekonsha Plug in Wiring Adapter part # 3040-P to install your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller part # 90195. The additional ground is necessary for aftermarket controllers like the P3.
When we installed this harness on a very similar Tundra as yours we used a self tapper and drilled it into the sheet metal by the emergency brake pedal. See the video I attached. Fast forward to the :30 second mark to see exactly where.
