I'm looking at the Curt Alumalite for towing my equipment trailer. Is the 12,500 lb rating the same with both balls or does the capacity change depending on which ball I'm using?

Hey Matt! The capacity of the Curt Alumalite is dependent on the hitch ball you're using. Curt rates the 2" ball for up to 8,000 lbs and the 2-5/16" ball for up to 12,500 lbs. All three options have the same capacity. You can choose from the following based on the amount of drop you need for your setup.
