Will Fulton Boat Trailer Guide-Ons Work for a Single Axle Escort Trailer

Updated 07/22/2026 | Published 07/18/2014

Question:

Will these work on single axle escort trailer? the frame sets future in the most trailers. I bought a set of 60 inch bunk board side rail style and the tubing is about 8 inches to short. They measure 16 to the radius on one side and 18 on the other side. So I would think that from the radius back to the trailer should be at 24 long. Pleas let me know if these will work or if you have something that will work.Thank you,

The Fulton boat guides # FGB1500100 should work for you because there is some degree of adjustability in and out along the horizontal parts of the PVC pipes.

From the closest part of the bowed upright to the end of the PVC tube the measurement is 15 inches. From the same spot to the inside of the closest U-Bolt the measurement is 13 inches, when mounted on a 2 inch square tube frame. Your frame size will dictate this measurement.

Thirteen inches is fairly common. The CE Smith guide ons # CE27620 also adjusts out to 13 inches from the trailer.

Single Axle Escort trailers have a much narrower frame, and most side guides are not compatible. They just don’t stick out far enough. I have a 19” width side guides and nope they are not wide enough. Need 24” or wider frames.

@StephenD That's a really good point for anyone with a single axle Escort trailer. Those trailers do have a narrower frame, so the 19" roller guides aren't always able to reach the pontoons. We have some that are 21" but would still put you at that 19" mark when installed, the # CE27640.
