Wire Color Functions On Exterior LED Utility Light
Updated 06/15/2026 | Published 06/12/2026 >
Question:
The instructions in the box for this 12V light show red + and black - wires. The light actually has brown and blue wires. What is their polarity? I believe LEDs can be damaged if wired backwards and didn’t want to chance just guessing

Hi Robert; on the Exterior LED Utility Light # M336FR brown is the power and the blue is the ground. It wouldn't hurt it if you reversed them, but I would double check as well rather than risk damaging it.
Where are you installing the light?
