Question:
I bought a used motorhome and it came with a 7-way plug and a brake system monitor, but no tow bar. How do I know which Ultra-Fab tow bar I need?

Hi Mark! The 7-way plug and brake monitor are good signs that the motorhome was set up for flat towing, but the tow bar you need is mostly determined by the base plates on the vehicle you’ll be towing.
If your vehicle has Roadmaster base plates, you’ll want # UF35XR for an 8,000 lb tow bar or # UF45XR for a 12,000 lb tow bar. If it has Blue Ox base plates, you’ll want # UF55XR for 8,000 lbs or # UF95XR for 12,000 lbs.
You’ll also want to make sure the towed vehicle already has wiring and a supplemental braking system installed, not just the motorhome side. The motorhome 7-way sends the lighting and charge-line signals, but the towed vehicle still needs the correct wiring and braking equipment to use those signals safely. If you send over the vehicle info or a picture of the base plate tabs, I can help identify which tow bar style you need.
