Will Swagman XC-Extended Bike Rack Accommodate Recumbent Bikes With Different Wheelbases

Question:
Will the Swagman XC-Extended Bike Rack for 2 Recumbent Bikes accommodate two recumbents with different wheelbases? We have a Rans Stratus LWB and a Rans F5 SWB. Or do you have a recommendation for a different hitch-mount carrier? Thank you!

Hi Alex! Yes, the Swagman XC-Extended Bike Rack for 2 Recumbent Bikes # S64650-EXT can accommodate two different wheelbases. As long as the wheelbase doesn't exceed 69", and your bikes aren't more than 35 lbs each, this bike rack will work.
It does look like some versions of the RANS Stratus LWB have a 71" wheelbase so I would double check that. We do not have anything that can go beyond 69" and I'm not sure if any other manufacturers make one either. If they don't, the only option would be to carry it on a small trailer.
Where do you typically ride?

We put a Rans Stratus and a standard Trek bike on the extended Swagman. My only caution is that they sit very close together and we need to use foam to keep them from rubbing. This is our second Swagman and nothing beats it for carrying the Rans.

Thank you so much for getting back to me! I just went out to our "bike barn" and measured the wheelbase of the Stratus: 65"! I'll order the Swagman! We've been making do with a Thule rooftop tandem rack on my ancient Volvo wagon, but it'll be great not to have to lift the long, awkward bike above my head. We already have a hitch receiver on our Subaru Forester. Thanks again!!
