Durable Jump Pack With Good Battery Life To Jump Start Multiple Dead Batteries In Fleet Of Vehicles

Question:
Hey! I’ve got a half-ton truck and a couple vehicles that don’t get driven much. And some of the electronics on the work truck drain it down if the truck isn't running the whole time.. Batteries end up completely dead sometimes. What kind of jump starter actually handles that well? Consistent use and good battery life please. thanks!

Hey Mark! Thanks for explaining the situation - that helps a lot.
When batteries are truly dead, the big thing to look for is manual override time. The Projecta Intelli-Start 1,400A # VX73NR lets you manually apply power for up to 10 minutes, which gives a dead battery time to wake back up before starting. Most jump starters only allow a short burst - if they allow it at all, which isn't usually enough to bring back a battery that is completely dead at 0v.
That longer window is what makes the difference in real-world “sitting too long” scenarios. Once the engine starts, the unit also recharges itself automatically from the alternator which is super nice and saves you time from needing to charge in the car or house. It usually takes around 40 seconds to top off, sometimes a few minutes.
What’s the largest engine you’re dealing with regularly?
