How Does a Brake Controller Install in 2025 Chevy Traverse with Tow Package

Hey Tab, what type of trailer wiring do you have at the rear of your 2025 Chevy Traverse? With that info I can let you know what the best way to wire in a brake controller would be. Do you have a round 7-way connector at the back of your vehicle or a 4-way flat connector. I wish there was reliable info out there on what comes with the tow package of your vehicle but I can't get a definite answer but my assumption would be it's a 4-way which would require the # ETBC7 and a brake controller like the part # 90885.

Yes I have round plug but no brake controller

@TabJ Perfect! So you do have brake controller wiring according to the owners manual of your vehicle. According to page 258 it says "if equipped" and there are blunt cut wires that need to be spliced into. This means you'll need to hardwire the brake controller. The blunt cut wires (if equipped) will be located inside the front driver side instrument panel. You'll need to have 12V power connected to your engine battery in order for all of the wires to fully function. I recommend picking up the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness # RED52VR since it can be installed virtually anywhere, and the control knob takes up minimal space in your cab.
