Latch Lock With Span Longer Than 3-1/2"

Question:

can you recommend a similar pin diameter 1/4 or 3/8 with slightly longer useable span?

Hi Zac; the only latch lock we carry with that diameter and a longer span than the # TMX38SR is the Bulldog Easy Access Coupler Lock # BD580409. I'm not sure what you meant by slightly, but this is just slightly longer with a span of 3-5/8".

Is this for a coupler or some other application? If you need something longer, and you're trying to secure a coupler, you probably need to look at a different lock style like the Trimax Universal Trailer Coupler Lock # TMX47FR.

Hey thanks for getting back to me. I was actually looking to use it for kind of a peculiar application. im trying to find something I could use to secure an old hitch mount bike rack (just when parked, not while driving). we have an old kuat rack and im learning that for some reason the receiver on our gen 4 tacoma is shockingly wide. The longest pin from kuat is long enough to screw into the receiver / shank with a lock washer, secure it from rattling and even slip a cotter pin over the other side, but it is too short to affix the actual lock. unfortunately from my measurement i think i need something just barely bigger than this bulldog pin. probably 3 and 11/16 of useable span. Thank you for looking into it though, I understand this is a very niche question. I'll post again if I come up with any good solution. I may ultimately just buy a long threaded bold and secure it tightly with the hope that no one is so motivated to steal our old beat up bike rack.

@Zee-jay I would think you can use a 5/8" pin then, since that is standard for a receiver. The # 63259 with a 4" span would work. Toyota started adding those double walled hitches not that long ago, which has caused some problems when it comes to hitch mounted accessories designed for a 2" receiver.

@RobinH thank you. i will look into it. 5/8 may be too large to fit through the threaded portion of the rack. it is a 1.25 inch model that i use mostly on another car. i only use it occasionally on the truck with an adapter sleeve in the receiver. thanks again
