Which Direction Should Ratchet Straps Face In Truck Bed
Updated 01/19/2026 | Published 12/29/2025 >
Question:
When using rachet straps, what do you recommend of the strap should I secure. Should the rachet end be at the tailgate end or vice versa? Is there a right way or wrong way.

Hey Todd, while I am not sure exactly which ratchet straps you are referring to or what you are securing I can say that it really doesn't matter which way the ratch ends up facing. You'd just have to go with what makes the most sense and also what would be easiest to access whether that is at the tailgate end or the opposite end.

Hey Todd, how did things go with your ratchet strap setup? Did you find a position for the ratchet end that made it easier to tighten and release? Your feedback could help others figuring out the best way to secure their load.
