5th Wheel 7-Way Kit for 2022 Chevy Silverado with a Longer Harness

Updated 12/29/2025 | Published 12/22/2025

Question:

I have a 2022 Silverado 3500 long bed with the Curt 7-pin gooseneck wiring adapter. I need to move the connector from the rear of the bed to the front of the bed close to the cab of the truck, and the 7 cable is not long enough. I need probably another 2 of cable. Does anyone make an extension cable for this application? Do you have anything else I can use?

Hey Eric, what you need would be a fifth wheel 7-way kit like the part # 41157 which will give you a second 7-way that will install up in the truck bed like you are wanting. This has a harness that is 10 foot long instead of the 7 foot harness you have which would give you the additional length you are looking for.

Curt also makes #56745 which is just an extension cable for general purpose use. We'll see if it works when I get it.

SInce I won't be using the 7-pin connector in the rear of the bed of the truck, does anyone make a cover for the leftover hole?

@EricB that's a good question but that we are aware of no one makes a cover or plug specifically for that hole.
