How Wide Are The Mounting Rails On The Fas-Top Traveler Roll-up Tonneau & Soft Truck Topper FT23RV?

Updated 12/16/2025 | Published 12/15/2025

Question:

How wide are the mounting rails? Im really looking for the dimension from the inside of the bed rail/lip to the outside edge of rail. I have a bed rack on my truck, and Im trying to see if theres enough room for both, or if I need to take the rack off to get the topper on.

Hey Bill, great question. Fas-Top’s own info and user measurements put the Traveler rails at right about 2 inches wide total, measured from the inside edge of the bed rail lip out to the outer edge of the Fas-Top rail.

So on your 2026 Colorado with kit # FT23RV, plan on the top of each bed rail “losing” about 2 inches of real estate. If the rack has feet that sit on top of the rail and take up more than about 2 inches inboard from the outer edge, space gets tight and the rack may need to come off or be changed.

Fas-Top’s own JayBar rack # FT89MJ is designed to share the rails cleanly on the Canyon/Colorado, so that is the easiest combo if you decide to swap racks.

What ladder rack do you have currently?

Thanks, the current Rack is the Adarac Aluminum Series rack. It looks like the Fas-Top rails will clear the vertical portion of the rails, but the bolt heads on the rails will require about a 1/2" spacer to provide a solid bearing for the Fas-Top Rails.

@BillM Nice, that helps a lot. The Adarac Aluminum Series racks tend to play pretty well with different tonneau and rail systems, so it makes sense you’re close already. Adding that half inch spacer to give the Fas-Top rails a solid, flat surface sounds like a good plan. We haven’t tested that exact combo in house, but based on the fitment you’re describing, the Adarac setup looks like a strong candidate for making everything work together.
