Can P&F Ladder Rack Screw Onto Top Rail 1-1/2" Tall Of 2024 Mirage Trailer 7x14

Question:
I’ve got a 2024 7x14 Mirage trailer and the top rail is only about 1-1/2 inch tall. Will the PF79VR’s bracket fit that, or is the mounting pad too big?

Randy - the P&F Ladder Rack for enclosed trailers # PF79VR will work fine on that rail. The mounting pad is 6 inch wide × 2 inch tall, so it gives you a big, flat footprint even if your trailer’s rail is on the shorter side. The bracket doesn’t rely on the rail’s full height - you simply drill through the pad and into whatever structure is behind your top rail steel tube, aluminum tube, or a reinforced header.
Just be sure you’re anchoring through solid framing and not just the skin. Since enclosed trailers vary a ton, you’ll want to pick screws that match your application.
If you want to send a picture of that Mirage top rail, I’m happy to help pick the best bolt placement.

My only concern now is that the inside of the wall is fully paneled, so I can’t get a nut on the back side. Are self-tapping screws enough for this rack?
