Hello Robert,

Looks like you already found the right one for your 2022 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk! The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # DT28MR is the correct fit for the Trailhawk model. I attached a picture where I highlighted where it confirms that fit for the Trailhawk.

If you need wiring for light towing or to power a hitch mounted accessory, you’ll want the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Connector # 118779. The # 118779 gives you a 4 flat connection at the back of your Jeep. If you plan to tow something with trailer brakes, you’ll want to build on that setup by adding the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7.

When installing the # ETBC7, you’ll need to run a power wire with a few amps from the battery to the rear of the vehicle, and also a brake wire from the front to the 7 way. It’s a bit time consuming, but not too difficult. If you’re just going with the 4 flat, grab a # C42CR mounting bracket for a nice clean look on the install.

If you’re looking for a ball mount, check out the etrailer Ball Mount w/ Pre-Torqued 2" Ball 2" Hitch 4" Drop 7,500 lbs # e77DR. Once your hitch is installed, you’ll be 22" from the ground to the top inside of the receiver. With a 4" drop, that puts you at around 17", and most trailer couplers sit around 16", which puts you right in the sweet spot.

If your trailer’s coupler measures differently, let me know what you get. Just make sure you’re on level ground, then measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler.

Hey Robert, how did the Draw-Tite hitch work out on your Cherokee Trailhawk? Did the fit and height line up the way you expected once everything was in place? Your update could make it easier for the next person setting up the same model.
