Is There A Difference Between The 5" And 12" Center Consoles For Thomas Payne Seismic Recliners?

Updated 11/12/2025 | Published 11/11/2025

Question:

Is there a big difference between the 5inch Seismic Console TP33AR and the 12inch version TP78AR besides width?

Actually, yes there are a few differences, Dianne. The 5 inch console like # TP33AR for McCoy or # TP28AR for Dellmead gives you dual cupholders and basic storage. The 12 inch version # TP78AR or # TP48AR adds a pop-up 110V outlet and USB charging ports. If you like to charge devices or work from your recliner, go with the 12 inch - otherwise, the slimmer one keeps your seating tighter and is a bit more budget friendly. But in all honesty, if you have the room for it, I'd spend a little extra this time around and get the better setup!

What type of motorhome or travel trailer do you have, Dianne?

That helps a lot, thanks! I ended up going with the 12" version; figured the outlets would come in handy for laptops and phones.

@Dianne Good move, Dianne! Most folks end up preferring the extra function of the 12" if space allows. The pop-up outlet box is perfect for charging devices or even plugging in a small fan on hot days. How’s the fit look between your seats? Plenty of space left to recline fully?

@AndrewN We bought the 5” console first and swapped to the 12” later. Definitely worth it. more storage and looks more balanced between the chairs.

@Kevin That's awesome Kevin! The 12” does fill the gap better visually and adds just enough to make it more usable and spaced out. Glad the switch worked out!
