Does Fas-Top Soft Shell Topper Make Noise On Highway? 2025 Silverado 1500 6-1/2 Foot Bed?

Updated 11/18/2025 | Published 11/06/2025

Question:

Does the Fas-Top FT44EV topper flap or make noise on the highway when installed on a 2025 Silverado 1500 6-1/2' bed? Hey Eddie, surprisingly not. The FT44EV topper uses tensioned vinyl-coated canvas and internal bows that keep the shape tight even at highway speed. On your 2025 Silverado 1500, it rides smooth and quiet - most owners say wind noise is no worse than a soft tonneau. As long as the hook-and-loop seals are seated along the rails, you won’t get any flapping. Do you do long interstate runs or mostly local drives? If you’re on the highway often, I’d check out the optional blackout rear window to cut glare from headlights at night.

It also is not taller than the roof, so it makes your truck MORE aerodynamic actually! Good to know. I do a lot of highway miles for work, and wind noise is sometimes a bit annoying. Does the blackout rear window actually help with glare much?

@Eddie It does, Eddie. The blackout window makes a noticeable difference at night. It cuts the reflection from cars behind you and helps keep the inside darker for sleeping or hauling gear. Plus, it blends the topper with the cab nicely, so it looks cleaner overall and has less wind noise and wind drag due to being more aerodynamic with the topper on.
