Good question, Chris. On your 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 (and GMC Sierra 1500) with the 6-1/2' bed, the Fas-Top Solo Soft Topper # FT44EV sits just below the cab roofline for a clean, streamlined look. It’s low enough that wind noise is minimal and garage clearance usually isn’t an issue, but still tall enough inside to give your cargo or pets some headroom.

When you retract it, the topper stores flat in its sling at the front of the bed, staying well below the rear window. If you ever add the JayBar # FT97MJ rack, it mounts several inches above the cab height so you can carry kayaks or ladders without interference.
Will you be using the topper mostly for camping or daily protection? That’ll help narrow down whether you’d like the mesh or blackout rear window options.

That’s good to hear. I park in a low garage, so I was worried it might stick up too high. Does it add much height when it’s folded up?

@Chris Nope, not higher than the cab at all!. When the topper’s folded down into the sling, it's stull under the tonneau cover and rails. If you end up adding the JayBar ladder rack, that will definitely sit above the cab height a little bit.
