Marissa, you sure can - these Zerostart pads are built to stay plugged in through a cold spell without any problem. Just keep them running only when it’s below freezing, since they don’t shut off automatically. Once the days start to warm up, unplug or put them on a timer outlet so your battery doesn’t get overheated.

How long do your cold snaps usually last where you’re at? If all winter is below freezing, there's no reason you can't just leave it plugged in during the entire cold season. And what size battery do you have? Here are the common options we carry:
- # ZE77FR for group 22NF, 26, 26R, 51, 51R, and 70 batteries
- # ZE87FR for group 24, 24F, 24H, 24R, 24T, 25, 27, 27F, 27H, 31, 34, 34R, 35, 38, and 74 batteries
- # ZE27FR for group 31 or series-parallel configurations like heating multiple batteries in a bank (golfcarts, RVs etc.)

Usually we’re below freezing from November through March here in Alberta. Batteries are Group 27 deep cycles on my fifth wheel.

@Marissa That’s a long haul of cold weather, Marissa - keeping the pads plugged in all winter is absolutely fine in that case. Your Group 27s are a great fit for two of the 80-watt # ZE87FR, or if you ever run a pair in parallel, a single longer one like # ZE27FR will cover both. Sounds like you’re doing everything right for winter storage. Do you keep your fifth wheel on shore power too, or just plan to maintain the batteries through these heaters?
