Does The Taylor Made Prop Protector Really Protect The Blades When Putting On A Boat Cover?

Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 10/18/2025

Question:

My Minnkota propelle blades break off when I tighten my boat cover for trailing. I know your product will protect my cover, but will it provide support for my 2 blade prop so they don’t snap off. Thanks

Hey Harlan,

The Taylor Made Protector # 369257 is not only going to protect your cover from tearing, but it will also protect the blades themselves from any damage when getting ready to trailer your boat. It will protect them from weather as well, but for your application it will protect them as well.

What kind of boat do you have?

Hey Harlan, how did things go with the Taylor Made prop protector on your trolling motor? Did it keep your 2-blade prop safe while trailering? Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same issue.

@NickSThanks for the follow up. I haven’t tested it yet. Your prop protector will certainly protect my boat cover and I am thankful for that. I am going to place a long piece of wood inside the prop protector that will, I think, give me even more protection from those props breaking off.

@HarlanW That is a solid idea! You'll have to let me know how it is working once you are able to test it.
