The MagnaFlow Heavy Metal Loaded, Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter - Universal # MF99005HM you found will fit your 1996 Chevy Caprice Classic SS with the 5.7 350. We also have the MagnaFlow Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter - Direct-Fit Passenger Side # MF23470 and Driver Side # MF23471. They are a little more expensive, but will be easier to install if you have the stock exhaust installed. If you do not have the stock exhaust, I would go with the less expensive universal option.
One thing to note though, none of these are CARB compliant so they cannot be used or shipped to California, Colorado, Maine, or New York.
