Hello Gerry, thanks for reaching out. The spring bars on the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ90-00-1600 are supposed to be hard to swing. This is part of the 4-point sway control. You would not way to use grease on the spring bars as this would reduce friction and cause the WD hitch to not work as intended.
That said, you can use the Equal-i-zer High-Performance Lubricant # EQ91-00-4250 in other areas of your system in order to help reduce wear and lessen the noise that may occur from the steel-on-steel friction; this lubricant can be put on the system's hitch ball as well as its spring-bar sockets and hitch head.
