Replacing 2018 Forest River Surveyor Porch Light That Cracked - Will Old Holes Be Needing Filled?
Published 09/11/2025 >
Question:
I’ve got a 2018 Forest River Surveyor and the old porch light cracked. Will this M3 light cover the old footprint, or am I going to have a mess of holes showing?

Chad, good thinking ahead. Since this black housing M3 light # M378FR mounts flush instead of recessing into a cutout, you’re not locked into an exact footprint match if that makes sense. That said, I get what you're saying about not wanting holes showing - this housing measures about 12-1/4 inch x 12 inch, so in most cases it will cover the outline of older porch or utility lights. For old screw holes that don’t line up, just fill them with butyl tape or a type of sealant before setting the new light in place - it’ll look factory again once snugged down and you'll be good as new.
Are you mainly using it as an entry light, or more for campsite visibility?
