Troubleshooting Patriot II Brake Claw Slipping on 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid

Question:

I have a Patriot II, BRK2016 Brake system and a 2023 Ford Hybrid Maverick that I am attempting to use it with. The brake claw doesn’t seem to fit tight on it. Is there something that I can purchase to get this to fit the brake pedal more securely? When we are using the brake system, we get an error message to reset the brake. When I go back to reset the brake, I can see the claw has shifted on the pedal. Thank you

Hey Rich!

The Blue Ox Patriot II # BRK2016 came with come XL fangs that you can swap out and put on the top part of the claw. Have you tried this yet?

We used this brake system on a different vehicle until we purchased the Maverick Hybrid, 2023. I only have 1 set of fangs and I don’t know if they are the XL fangs or not that are on there.

@Rich The XL fangs look like a J. I'm not seeing that the fangs are replaceable, but there is the Replacement Claw Kit # BRK2512 that comes with a set of the XL fangs if you end up wanting to go that route.
