Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2011 Nissan Xterra Pro-4x
Updated 09/04/2025 | Published 08/10/2025 >
Question:
I have 2011 Nissan Xterra Pro-4X. The suspension is stock no lift on either end. I am looking to replace the rear bump stops with something that will help with load carrying as I plan on towing a small travel trailer with loaded weight of about 3000 pounds, tongue weight of about 400 pounds. I always use a weight distribution hitch when towing. I do NOT want the replacement bump stops to be in constant contact with the rear axle. I also do not want air bags. Your website does not list the height of the Timbren or Sumospring options. What do you recommend?

Hey Don, if you were wanting to go with something that will give you the suspension support you are looking for without destroying your ride quality you would want the Roadactive kit part # RAS4529-XT which gives you all of the support you are looking or without any of the downsides commonly associated with these types of kits.
The ride quality loaded and unloaded will actually be improved with this while also offering adjustable support so you can really dial it in. Have you tried air bags before and that's why you don't want them?
