Which Running Boards Fit A 2020-2026 Sierra or Silverado Crew Cab Without Drilling Holes?

Updated 08/04/2025 | Published 07/29/2025

Question:

Just got a Silverado 2500 high country full 4 door. Looking to upgrade the factory steps to something sleeker. Will the Romik RB2 work without drilling?

Kevin, you’re right on track. The Romik boards for your Silverado 2500 Crew Cab are a direct bolt-on using existing threaded holes in the body. No drilling required.

You’ll get a cleaner, more OEM-plus look than those factory bars, and way better grip.

What year is your Silverado? The Romik RB2-T Running Boards Black # RMK69ER you were looking at (also available in Silver # RMK49ER) are confirmed to fit 2020-2026 Silverado/Sierra 1500/25000/3500 with the full 4 door crew cab.

Thanks, Andrew. I’m also curious, how do these look installed compared to the factory High Country steps? Do they sit tighter to the cab or hang lower?

@KevinT The Romik RB2-T boards definitely clean up the side profile compared to the factory High Country bars. They’re sleeker, with a more flush mount against the cab, especially if you install them using the higher bracket holes. That gives them a more integrated “OEM plus” vibe instead of the look of stock steps. That said, if you want a bit more drop for easier entry, you can use the lower bracket settings without it looking bulky. Either way, you’re getting a sharper silhouette with a solid 6" wide stepping surface and no chrome or plastic bulges like the factory ones.
