Should Front Timbrens Be In Constant Contact With The Axle?

Question:
So I got a front ses timbren kit for my94 1/2 ton 4x4. I installed them and I got about 1/2 inch of clearance between the rubber spring and the axle. I was under the impression that they would be in contact at all times. Part number TFF1504H. If they are supposed to be in contact at all times is a spacer advisable to use? Thanks.

Hello Adam, thanks for reaching out. Generally the front Timbrens would be in constant contact with the axle. It is typical for the rear Timbrens to have a 1/2"-1-1/2" gap, but the fronts should be in contact.
Timbren does make a 1/2" spacer you can use, part # TA25722-90P00. Just keep in mind the bolts that came with your kit may not be long enough to use with a spacer. In this case new bolts will need to be sourced locally.

Hey Adam, did you decide to use a spacer for your front Timbrens? I'm curious to know how it worked out, as it could help others facing the same situation.
