Will Reese Adjustable Ball Mount RP21141 Work On A 2024 Subaru Ascent?

Hi, Im looking for an adjustable ball mount for my Subaru Ascent 2024. I was looking at the Reese 21141. I was wondering if the long shank 10.75 could affect the weight tongue? Can it have other negative effect? The OEM one has a very short length. Thank you,

Hello Danick, thanks for reaching out. The long shank on the Reese Adjustable Ball Mount # RP21141 is not going to change your tongue weight capacity. The ball mount still has a 5,000 lb rating. True, moving the ball away from the truck would slightly increase the tongue weight, but the # RP21141 ball mount is still a pretty standard size. As long as your stick to the 5,000 lb towing 500 lb tongue weight capacity you will be just fine.
You will just need to get a ball to go with it. I recommend part # C40004 for a 2" ball, or part # C40005 for a 2-5/16" ball.
