Question:
I have a boat trailer that I need to add a second axle to. Current axle is stamped UFP A848118. Axle has spring centers at 76” and brake flange measures 86”. The hub face measurement is about 92” hard to measure past disc brakes. Wheels are 5 lug 4.5”. Do you have an axle and tandem mounting kit to convert my trailer? Thank you

Hey Craig! We don't have an axle that is going to match those dimensions. There isn't a kit that'll convert your trailer to a tandem axle either. To add a second axle to your trailer, apart from the axle you'll need a set of hangers that have to be welded on, leaf springs, U-bolts, a pair of equalizers, shackle straps, and shackle bolts. You'll have to measure your hangers for matching ones and reposition your current axle as well.
You're going to want a kit like the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs item # APT8. This is just an example because I do not know how tall your hangers currently are. You'll also need a couple of the U-Bolt Kits like item # APUBR-1 if you have 3,500 lbs 2-3/8" diameter axles.
I have linked a couple of help articles below. If you have any additional questions go ahead and throw them into the comment box and I'll be happy to help you.

Hey Craig, how did things go with adding the second axle to your boat trailer? Were the hanger kit and U-bolt kit able to get you moving in the right direction? Your update could make it easier for the next person working on a similar tandem setup.
