Is There A 2" Receiver Available For The 2008 Mercedes-Benz E350?

Updated 03/19/2025 | Published 03/18/2025

Question:

Hi. I’m a regular customer. Question - do you have a 2” opening hitch that will fit a 2008 Mercedes E350? I only see a 125” hitch. I’m really not going to be towing anything. I just prefer a 2” opening for a stronger bicycle rack. Please let me know. Thanks.

Hello Tom, thanks for reaching out. There is currently only one trailer hitch made for the 2008 Mercedes-Benz E350, and that is the Curt C11701 which is the 1-1/4" receiver you mentioned.

How many bikes are you trying to carry? What kind of bikes are they?

Reply below and let me know. I am happy to look into it and see what solutions we can offer.

I don’t carry heavy bikes. I just have a beautiful, all aluminum 2” bike rack and would prefer not to use a step down adapter.

@TomR I see. That sounds like a cool bike rack. I really do not like the idea of using a 1-1/4" to 2" hitch adapter. Reason being those adapters will cut your hitches carrying capacity in half. So the Curt # C11701 hitch which has a 200 lb tongue weight capacity would only be able to safely carry 100 lbs. This is including the weight of the adapter, the bike rack and your bikes. Also the adapters can create a lot of additional rattle which is not ideal. I know its not what you wanted to hear, but the best solution I can offer would be a new bike rack made for the 1-1/4" hitch. Something like the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack # HLY94FR would work well. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
