Question:
Tekonsha Voyager that you supplied some years ago: I am reinstalling on a newer vehicle that has a 7 pin and a flat 4 pin both factory installed. Recently, I read somewhere on your web site that there should be a heavy gauge 10 or 12 AWG used for part of the installation but I cant find it now. All four wires from the Voyager seem to be the same gauge, so I dont understand why this heavier gauge has to be used or where. Please clarify. Also, what gauge comes on the Voyager? Thank you.

Hey Cliff, when installing a brake controller 10 gauge is best for the power, ground, and brake output circuit like our part # 10-1-1.
So this might seem confusing since the wiring on the controller is thinner but you need the thicker gauge wire to go from that to the places it needs to as it will be longer runs which add resistance. Does that help?
