Can Adapter 7 Pole to Cigarette # 118019 Handle 40 Amp Draw
Updated 03/04/2025 | Published 02/28/2025 >
Question:
Is this adapter reported to work on the 7 pin bed outlet for a 2024 Ford F250 Super Duty as long as the diesel engine is running? I’m wanting to power a 12V freezer that draws 40 watts. Thanks.

Hey Steve, the Adapter 7 Pole to Cigarette # 118019 that you referenced would easily be able to handle powering a fridge that draws 40 watts although I am pretty sure you meant to type amps. This would be able to handle a 40 amp draw too as long as your 12 volt accessory circuit is rated for this as well.

The freezer is a 12V unit with rated average usage at 45 watts, or 3.75 amps. I’m not concerned with the power draw, but specifically asking about whether the adapter will actually work with a 2024 F250 7 pin bed outlet. Apparently there are some units of this type that fail to work with this truck for some reason. I would appreciate hearing from anyone using this adapter in their Super Duty truck.
