Curt A16 Slider or E16 Slider for 2024 GMC Sierra HD 2500 with OEM Pucks

Question:
I have a 2024 gmc hd 2500 diesel with factory prep for a 5th wheel. I am buying a dutchman astoria 260rk 5th wheel with hitch weight 1550 lbs dry weight 8550. Will I need the 16A or will a 16 E work? Thanks, Mike

Hey Michael, since the A16 slider from Curt part # C39PV that fits the OEM pucks of your 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 is MUCH nicer than the E16 I would highly recommend going with it unless you are not bothered by chucking (loud banging noise when starting and stopping). The A series of hitches has a jaw design that holds the king pin of the trailer tightly which does a great job reducing any chucking whereas the E16 has a slide bar design that allows for quite a bit of movement which creates a lot of noise. Have you towed with a fifth wheel hitch before by chance?
