Does Front Runner Truck Bed Rack For 2024 Toyota Tacoma Easily Slide on Bed Rails

Question:

Hi, I have a Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 with a 6 ft bed. I have looked at this, in detail, as well as install instructions and cannot tell if the cross bar supports, when mounted on the stock Toyota bed mounting Rails, are able to slide on the rails by loosening the 4 bolts for each cross-bar? Looking for a Rack that I can use, then, when I need to carry a Home Dryer, like last week, I can simply loosen the bolts and slide the bar closest to the tailgate, towards the cab. Make sense? If Not this product, can you recommend another that has this capability? Thanks!

Hey Raul,

I reached out to Front Runner, and what they said was you are able to pretty easily move the Front Runner Truck Bed Rack # FR22XJ.

They said that with all 8 nuts loosened, you can slide the bars, though it's probably easier with someone on each side so you're not sliding one side at a time, but you can definitely do it.

Hi Kyle, Thank you for the prompt response. Wanted to be sure. The other question I have, now, that I was looking at closer as an option for myself; what is the load capacity? How many lbs can be loaded on the Front Runner Truck Bed Rack - 56-1/8" Crossbars Part Number: FR22XJ? I cannot find it listed anywhere. Thank you

@RaulE Per Front Runner, the capacity is 55 lbs per load bar (so 110 lbs), distributed evenly.

@KyleS Thanks, Again! While the load carrying capacity is about 1/3 expected, will be more than enough for a couple of bikes. OK, more to consider. Thank you
