Will Roadmaster Tracker Tow Bar Work on Roadmaster EZ Base Plates For Smart Fortwo

Question:
I have a 2014 SMART Fortwo with Roadmaster baseplate 52285-1. I am attaching photos of one of the baseplate arms we have now. We need a new tow bar. Will the RM-020 work as a tow bar? Is the cross bar necessary? We would like to not have that if possible. Can we use these arms with a different direct connect?

Hi Keith,
Yep, the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit # 52285-1 on your 2014 Smart Fortwo is 100% compatible with the Roadmaster Tracker Tow Bar # RM-020.
That said, the Tracker # RM-020 does require the use of the crossbar, as does any tow bar with those specific base plates. The arms on the base plates unfortunately don't have a way to use direct-connect tow bars.
