Is It Normal To Have Hard Knocks While Unloaded With Timbren Rear SES Installed
Updated 09/11/2024 | Published 09/05/2024 >
Question:
I installed DVRRT into my caravan yesterday. The van is empty, no load, and I now seem to have a hard knock going over bumps. Could there be an install issue or is the DVRRT being hit while going over these road bumps?

Hi Roy,
The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TDVRRT is definitely hitting the contact pad when you hit a road bump while unloaded. There should be a 1/2" to 1-1/2" space between the spring and the contact pad while unloaded. The larger the spacing the less chance the coil springs will compress enough to hit the contact pad. If the spacing is less than 1/2" then this could be a sign that your coil springs are worn and need to be replaced. This is just an annoying trade-off for support while hauling and not an installation issue.
