Question:
Can you use this with the bike rack to get more than 12” clearance to the rv wall? The handle bars need more space. https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Adapters/Roadmaster/RM-071-1075.html

Hello David. It is possible to use a hitch extender like the Roadmaster Anti-Rattle Hitch Extender # RM-071-1075 to get more clearance between your bike rack and your RV. The main thing to keep in mind is that using a hitch extender reduced the carrying capacity of your hitch by half. So, if the hitch on your RV is rated for 5,000 lbs towing or 500 lbs of tongue weight, you will only be able to tow 2,500 lbs or 250 lbs of tongue weight when using the extension.

Hey David, did the Roadmaster hitch extender give you the extra clearance you needed between your bike rack and the RV wall? Knowing how it worked could help others trying to fit bikes with wider handlebars.
