Availability of 2-1/2" Hitch Ball

Hi James; what kind of trailer do you have and where do you see the 2-1/2" requirement? The standard hitch ball sizes are 1-7/8", 2", and 2-5/16". Nobody makes a 2-1/2" ball. If somehow the coupler does require a 2-1/2" ball a 2-5/16" would not work.
The only thing that might be related is a 2-1/2" receiver on the vehicle which could use a 2-1/2" ball mount like the # EBMK25318 you looked at. However, I don't know why that would be listed as a requirement on the trailer. This ball mount comes with a 2-5/16" ball and an 18,000 lb GTW.

Hey James, did you find out whether your trailer actually needed a 2-1/2 ball or if it was referring to a 2-1/2 receiver instead? Knowing how that turned out could really help others sorting through the same confusion.
