Weight Distribution for 2,000 lbs Tongue Weight and 18,000 lbs Gross Trailer Weight 2012 GMC Sierra

Question:

Im interested in this weight distribution hitch BXW2000 for my 2012 GMC Sierra 2500HD but want to ensure that the weight distribution shank that is included is rated for at least 2000 lb TW and 18,000 lb GTW. Seems like a lot of weight for a 2inch square weight distribution shank and I cant find the specs.

The shank that is included with the Blue Ox Sway Pro system, # BXW2000, is shank # BXW4018. According to Blue Ox, the shank by itself is rated for 2,000 pounds tongue weight and 20,000 pounds gross trailer weight.
